The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) is a professional organization dedicated to increasing the understanding, safety, and efficacy of medical instrumentation. Healthmark Industries is an active, corporate member of AAMI.  Members of the Healthmark team are voting members on many of the AAMI working groups.  The working groups consist of members representing manufacturers, end users, professional associations and others from the healthcare industry.  The groups work jointly to develop recommendations and guidelines for reprocessing and sterilization processes. Association for periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) is dedicated to enhancing the professionalism of perioperative registered nurses. They promote standards of perioperative nursing practices and recommendations relative to reprocessing and sterilization practices to better serve the needs of society.  AORN provides a forum for interaction and exchange of ideas related to perioperative health care. ASTM International, formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), is a globally recognized leader in the development and delivery of international voluntary consensus standards. ASTM International develops international standards for materials, products, systems and services used in healthcare, medical device design, construction, manufacturing and transportation. Healthmark Industries is a corporate member and participates in many of the ASTM working groups focused on cleaning and medical device products. The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD), formerly the NICHSPDP, is a non-profit Certification Board which plans, develops and administers competency-based "International" certification examinations for personnel performing cleaning, disinfection, sterilization and inventory management activities, regardless of the setting. Healthmark Industries works with the CBSPD in areas that focus on education and training. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a governmental entity whose mission is to collaborate to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health – through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats. The Food and Drug Administration is a governmental entity responsible for:

  • Protecting the public health by assuring that foods are safe, wholesome, sanitary and properly labeled; human and veterinary drugs, and vaccines and other biological products and medical devices intended for human use are safe and effective
  • The FDA is responsible for the review and 510k premarket approval of medical devices
  • Protecting the public from electronic product radiation
  • Assuring cosmetics and dietary supplements are safe and properly labeled
  • Regulating tobacco products
  • Advancing the public health by helping to speed product innovations
  • Helping the public get the accurate science-based information they need to use medicines, devices, and foods to improve their health  

FDA’s responsibilities extend to the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and other U.S. territories and possessions.

IAHCSMM is the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management.  IAHCSMM is the professional organization for Central Sterile practitioners and other interested parties. Through IAHCSMM’s organized educational opportunities and dedicated support services, members have access to the most comprehensive, industry-leading professional development tools available. Healthmark Industries works with IAHCSMM in areas that focus on education and training.  Whenever possible, Healthmark Industries educational programs receive IAHCSMM educational CEU (continuing education units) for their content. International,National, State and Local organizations and groups

Healthmark Industries supports local, state, regional, national and international groups and professional organizations in the various fields such as CSSD, Operating Room, Endoscopy, Infection Control and other professional groups and organizations found in a medical setting. Healthmark provides speakers and other educational material as warranted. We exhibit at many of these meetings. State and local chapters are the back bone of any professional group and Healthmark Industries is proud to support these groups when we can.

SBA: Sterile Barrier Association

Healthmark is a member of the Sterile Barrier Association, the European trade association for companies who produce Sterile Barrier Systems (SBS) and associated equipment and accessories for the healthcare industry. Click here to view the certificate.


The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates is a professional organization of gastroenterologists, nurses and associates dedicated to the safe and effective practice of gastroenterology and endoscopy nursing. SGNA carries out its mission by advancing the science and practice of gastroenterology and endoscopy nursing through education, research, advocacy, and collaboration, and by promoting the professional development of its members in an atmosphere of mutual support. The Joint Commission
